November is National Reading Month. It started in 2011 when the Department of Education made it one of its programs to promote the love for reading. This year's National Reading Month has a theme, "Basa. Bayan. Bukas". The celebration is not limited to simply reading but reading with comprehension.

West Crame Elementary School (WCES) participated in various activities at the school and division levels that brought honor to its institution. The division Level celebration was last November 29, 2022, at Pinaglabanan Elementary School. City Mayor, Hon. Mayor Francis Javier Zamora with First Lady Keri Zamora, graced the program. They read a story entitled, “Papel de Liha” by Ompong Remigio, which the students surely enjoyed to listen. Various schools from the division prepared a booth showcasing different reading materials like big books and manipulatives for learners to further develop their love for reading.
