SJES: One of the finalists of MWF National Handwashing Quiz Bee

As the Global Handwashing Day is celebrated this month of October, Manila Water Foundation in partnership with P&G Safeguard Philippines and Globe Telecom, conducted different activities with the theme, “Global Handwashing Day: Our Future is at Hand Let’s Move Forward Together”. One of the said activities was the National Handwashing Quiz Bee. It was held last October 1, 2021 via Zoom with forty (40) partner schools represented and participated using Kahoot Application.

Elisha Job B. Bravo, Grade VI student from Special Science section, represented San Juan Elementary School (SJES) in the National Handwashing Quiz Bee. Among the forty competing public elementary school divisions, the City of San Juan ranked sixth in the elimination round. Bravo was with the supervision of his coach, Ms. Anna May M. De Leon and with the support of the principal Mr. Lloyd T. Tulaylay. He will be representing again San Juan Elementary School to the final round on October 8, 2021.

This only proves that SJES learners are aware on the different Health Programs like the Handwashing activity under DepEd Order No. 10, s. of 2016 entitled, Policy and Guidelines for the Comprehensive Water, Sanitation and Hygiene in Schools or WinS (Wash in Schools) program of OK sa DepEd (Oplan Kalusugan sa DepEd).

So, from the whole DepEd San Juan and the Manila Water Foundation, congratulations to all the winners and good luck in the final round!
