Selected LWDs of PES and KES: Recipients of Educational Assistance Program

Selected Learners with Disabilities (LWDs) from the SpEd Center of Pinaglabanan Elementary School and Kabayanan Elementary School received Four Thousand Pesos (P4,000.00) each and a food package from the City Government of San Juan, Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO). The city-wide activity was held at The San Juan City Hall Atrium last December 3, 2021 during the commemoration of International Day of Persons with Disabilities and also the Feast Day of St. Francis.


Mayor Francis B. Zamora, together with Vice-Mayor Warren Villa and Atty. Bel Zamora, led the distribution of the educational assistance to 277 recipients, (Persons with Disabilities or PWD students from kindergarten to college). Moreover, Dr. Cecille G. Carandang, OIC-Schools Division Superintendent, witnessed the release of the funds to the beneficiaries. She was joined by the OIC-Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Buenafe E. Sabado, and the Education Program Supervisor for EsP/Guidance and Special Education, Dr. Emma A. Sendiong.


Ms. Maria Theresa Deborah P. Dela Paz, PDAO Head, was designated by Mayor Francis B. Zamora to spearhead the project and validate the documents submitted by the families of the beneficiaries.


The Educational Assistance for PWDs is conceived to extend financial aid from the city government for the families of the PWD students to get by their education. It is intended to provide greater and wider access to basic services, specifically relating to educational expenses, as the city aims to be inclusive for all types of learners.

Mayor Francis B. Zamora leads the distribution of P4,000.00 cash and food pack to 277 PWDs as recipients of the educational assistance, together with the OIC-SDS Dr. Cecille G. Carandang and other key officials from the DepEd San Juan family.
