School-Based Resbakuna Kids Rolls-Out at Salapan Elementary School

In support of the Special Vaccination Day held last March 10, 2022, at San Juan Elementary School, the Schools Division Office of San Juan City, through the School Governance and Operations Division (SGOD) - School Health and Nutrition Section, together with the COVAX Team – LGU San Juan and the Officials of Barangay Salapan, conducted the Special Vaccination last Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at Salapan Elementary School. This special vaccination day is made possible by the City Health Office (CHO) and the SDO San Juan City to vaccinate more learners in support of the upcoming face-to-face classes.

The vaccination team accommodated 67 registered learners (62 learners age 5-11 and five learners age 12-17) and five walk-in learners (4 learners age 5-11 and one learner ages 12-17). The team also accommodated 18 adults for their booster shot, for a total of 90 learners and adults.

One of the learners vaccinated was Mark Raven Vicentino, a 6-year-old Kindergarten student of Salapan Elementary School who was accompanied by her mother, Mrs. Merza Manlapaz. When asked why she allowed her son to be vaccinated, Mrs. Malapaz said that his son is the only one who has not yet been vaccinated in their household, and she will be more confident that her son is now vaccinated as the whole family has been vaccinated.

CHO and SDO San Juan City will have future special vaccination schedules on select Wednesdays to accommodate more learners who wish to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

This undertaking is part of the local government of San Juan City’s effort to accelerate the vaccination process hence, the massive move to encourage young and adult citizens to have their booster shots and be inoculated by the COVID-19 Vaccine.
