Pinaglabanan Elementary School's Young Mathematicians Shine Bright at the MTAP-NCR Math Contest
On March 23, 2024, at the San Juan City Integrated School, San Juan City, the young mathematicians from Pinaglabanan Elementary School showcased their brilliance as they emerged victorious in the MTAP-NCR Math Contest elimination round. The competition, designed for elementary and junior high school students in both public and private schools regionwide, serves as the culmination of the MTAP-POEM/Saturday Program.
The primary goal of the MTAP-NCR Math Contest is to evaluate the impact of the MTAP-POEM/Saturday Program, foster a deeper interest in Mathematics among elementary and junior high school students, motivate students to strive for mathematical excellence, and acknowledge outstanding mathematical talent.
Students from Grades 1 to 10 enrolled in any public or private school in the sixteen divisions of NCR, and who have participated in the MTAP-POEM Saturday Program, are eligible to participate in the contest. Each school can be represented by a maximum of 5 students per grade level, and contestants must be enrolled in the grade they are competing in. The competition is divided into two categories: Category A for public schools with regular curriculum and Category B for private schools, public science high schools, Chinese schools, DOST, and SUC’s high schools.
Within the Division of San Juan City, competing schools in the elementary level included San Juan City Integrated School, Salapan Integrated School, West Crame Elementary School, Sta. Lucia Elementary School, and Pinaglabanan Elementary School.
