LGU RECOGNITION OF BERF 2021 GRANTEES

Last January 23, 2023, the Local Government of San Juan City acknowledged and co-awarded the 2021 Basic Education Research Fund (BERF) completers in the Schools Division of San Juan. The DepEd Basic Education Research Fund (DepEd BERF) is a fund established by the Department of Education in the Philippines to support research and development projects that aim to improve the quality of basic education in the country.

The DepEd BERF provides financial support to researchers who propose projects that are aligned with the department's research priorities, which may include topics such as improving student learning outcomes, developing innovative teaching methods and materials, and enhancing the competencies of teachers and education leaders.

The fund is open to public and private educational institutions, non-government organizations, and individuals who are involved in basic education research. The DepEd BERF may also provide support for dissemination activities, such as conferences and workshops, that aim to share the results of research projects with stakeholders in the education sector. The DepEd BERF is an important tool for promoting evidence-based policymaking and decision-making in the Department of Education, and for enhancing the quality of basic education in the Philippines.

Mayor Francis Zamora, SDS Dr. Cecille G. Carandang, and the SDO SEPS for HRD, Planning and Research Dr. Rina A. Angeles, awarded 3 BERF completers of 2021 who were able to finish their Research Grants, namely, Dr. Bradley Goldie K. Loo, Dr. Maria Elena C.
