Ethan Chua advances to the 12th ASEAN School Games thru NISC 2022 wins

The Schools Division Office-San Juan City participated in the “NATIONAL INVITATIONAL SPORTS COMPETITION (NISC)” in Swimming held last June 04 – 08, 2022 at the Iloilo Sports Complex, Iloilo City, under the banner of the DepEd-National Capital Region delegation.

Roy Dan R. Pido, Division Sports Officer, headed the San Juan City contingent together with Juan Carlo D. Manalo, Swimming Coach of Xavier School and Ethan Nolasco Chua, the swimming athlete from the same school.

The members of the delegation expressed their support to Chua before the start of each Swimming Event on the first day.

Chua competed in the following Swimming Events: Boys 200-Meter Breaststroke, Boys 200 Individual Medley, Boys 400 Individual Medley, and Boys 100-Meter Breaststroke.


He victoriously bagged a Silver Medal for Boys 200-Meter Breaststroke and a Bronze Medal for Individual Medley. On the second day, he won a Silver Medal for 400 Individual Medley and on the third day, he got another Silver Medal for Boys 100-Meter Breaststroke.


With these achievements, Chua qualifies for the national selection in the 12th ASEAN School Games Philippine Delegation.


On behalf of the SDO-San Juan delegation, the team expressed their sincerest gratitude to the City Mayor Hon. Francis M. Zamora for his unending generosity to San Juan athletes, as well as to Vice Mayor Hon. Warren Villa, and the whole City Council. The same appreciation was extended to the key division officials namely, Dr. Cecille G. Carandang, CESO VI, Schools Division Superintendent; Dr. Buenafe E. Sabada, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent; Dr. Dominique T. Rivera, School Governance and Operations Division (SGOD) Chief, and the entire Xavier School community for their kind assistance and encouragement.


It is this kind of support that will enable each San Juaneño to SHINE!
