SJES young leaders: Committed to serve, to care, and to make a difference

The Supreme Pupil Government Officers for the School Year 2019 – 2020 of San Juan Elementary School (SJES) are privileged and honored to become part of the organization that provides support, improvement, fun and challenging experiences needed to be motivated, to do their best, and to achieve their goals as student leaders.

In line with this, the SPG Officers of SJES fully entrust themselves to cooperate and to lead from the heart as mandated in Article III of SPG Constitution and By-Laws stating that as officers, they shall be responsible servants and be committed in putting these values, principles and ideals into action through academic, socio-civic, leadership programs and activities.

Through concerted efforts, they were able to conduct activities at the very start of the school year. The officers, headed by their SPG President Madilyn T. Padre, were able to get involved in maintaining the cleanliness of the school vicinity thru Brigada Eskwela, Clean Up Drive, and Sama-Sama Day programs. Together, they monitor the daily and monthly attendance of the pupils, to encourage their fellows to come to school and avoid absences by the program called Project Care. The importance of eating nutritious foods were being intensified through Poster Making and Hat Design contests. They lead the pupils in becoming physically and mentally fit by Zumba Exercises right after the flag ceremony. The value of maintaining discipline during the school events became possible through their assistance. They were given opportunities to develop leadership skills and to learn about the issues and challenges facing our communities by attending Seminars and Leadership Trainings. World Teachers Day Celebration became memorable by Project Salamats that gives due recognition to the teachers as a way of showing care, love and appreciation. There is no other way of brightening up the Christmas Day celebration of the less fortunate pupils and their families other than giving Noche Buena package through a gift giving project called Surprising the Pupils through Gifts (SPG).

Various projects initiated by the officers became successful through the support, assistance, and guidance of their School Head, Mr. Lloyd T. Tulaylay, their Master Teacher In-Charge, Mrs. Maria Lourdes M. Viray, their Adviser, Mrs. Cynthia L. Galedo, and the unconditional love that they continuously receive from their families, friends, teachers, and schoolmates.

Indeed, they are true examples of 21st Century Student Leaders who can make the school a better place for learning while having more friends to share best experiences.
