On SPOTLIGHT: The Smallest Star Shines The Brightest

Although he may appear small in comparison to his peers, his mind is definitely advanced for his age. These are some of the awards given to Joaquin over the years: Youth Excellence in Science Award, 1st, 6th and 10th Placer in Metrobank-MTAP Challenge Public-Sectoral Individual Finals, Silver medal in International Kangaroo Mathematics Competition, Champion in Mathematics Quiz Bee, Recognition of Excellence Medal from DEPED, Silver Medal from Mathematics Development Academy of the Phils. (MATHDAP), and 1st Place Award in Science Quiz Bee.


In addition to these honors, Joaquin’s skills and abilities have also been exposed in international competitions. He won Bronze Medal-Individual and Team Category in China Primary Math Olympiad, and Merit Prize in International Mathematics Contest in Singapore.


Joaquin is an exemplary young child to his fellow students. His parents, Mr. Alejandro and Mrs. Rosalina Villareal are very supportive of him and both follow their son’s progress in school as they beam with pride every time Joaquin brings home new accomplishments.


On this note, San Juan Elementary School is extremely proud of Joaquin. May his accomplishments continue to inspire other learners to explore their potentials and give honor back to one’s parents, school, community, and country.


Joaquin Arthur P. Villareal, a student of San Juan Elementary School, is a small, cute child who perseveres and excels in academic endeavors. The often heard phrase “small but terrible” proves to be very much true for him. As a 12-year-old 6th Grader, he has competed and won in various contests involving Mathematics.
