SDO San Juan Boosts Partnership with the Community through the Parents–Teachers Association General
The SDO San Juan City has once again boosted its ties with the community through the staging of the very-first Parents–Teachers Association General Assembly and Mass Oathtaking Ceremony with the Theme: “Pursuing Productive Partnership for Greater Impact in Basic Education” last September 03, 2019 at the SDO San Juan Conference Hall.
One of the aims of the activity is to forge productive partnerships between and among the GPTAs and Schools together with the involvement of the City Government, and other education stakeholders in the division. With the presence of almost two hundred participants from various sectors, the event truly harvested a meaningful start of a productive and stronger ties with the different stakeholders who are bent to produce results. Dr. Alejandro G. Ibañez, OIC-SDS of SDO San Juan City, said in his message, “The vital ingredient in achieving the goals of the K to 12 Curriculum is through strengthening partnerships with all education stakeholders in the community. The convergence of the GPTA officers, LGU officials, school heads and others in this hall is a testament of more and exciting things to come in the division of San Juan”.
One of the highlights of the program commences with the inspirational speech of the beloved Mayor Hon. Francisco Javier M. Zamora, who encouraged all present in the occasion to be unified in the quest to improve further the situation of the schools in San Juan. “It is the priority of my administration to elevate the quality of our schools by providing state-of-the-art facilities. With the help of my father, Honorable Ronaldo B. Zamora, we will construct one (1) more school in Barangay Batis and that all schools will have wooden basketball courts” Mayor Zamora said in his speech.
The assembly was also full of learning as four competent speakers from SDO San Juan talked about various topics relative to Partnerships, GPTA Rules and Regulations, GPTA Election under DepEd Orders and other matters. Ms. Ana Marie Hernandez, Project Development Officer III, discussed DO No. 77, S. 2009 (Guidelines for the Conduct of Elections of Parents-Teachers Associations at the School Level and their Federations). The orientation on DO No. 54, S. 2009 (Revised Guidelines Governing Parents-Teachers Associations at the School Level) was clarified by Mr. Allan Eliezer M. Mal-In, Administrative Officer V of the division. While the topic on Partnership was facilitated by Dr. Jay F. Macasieb, Division Research Coordinator. The activity was wrapped up by Mr. Christopher Cabradilla, Education Program Supervisor II, who talked about External Partnership Services and Programs of DepEd.
The event gathered the stakeholders of education in San Juan led by the officials of DepEd and LGU San Juan, Federation-GPTA, GPTAs of different schools, HRPTAs and other groups and individuals with one goal in mind- “It Takes a Village to Educate a Child”
