SDO SAN JUAN CITY LEARNER SHINES IN A REGIONAL ON-THE- SPOT POSTER-MAKING CONTEST

Another back-to-back winning performance was etched in the achievements of the Division of San Juan City as a student from the San Juan City Science High School clinched the 2nd place spot of the On-the-Spot Poster- Making Contest sponsored by the National Disaster Risk Management Office in celebration of the National Disaster Resilient Month last July 24, 2019 at DepEd National Capital Region (NCR) Conference Hall.

Theodore Jeyde S. Balindo, a Grade 9 student of San Juan City Science High School, bested all the other representatives from other schools division in NCR by copping the 2nd Place Spot in an artistic battle to symbolize this year’s theme: “KAHANDAAN SA SAKUNA’T PELIGRO PARA SA TUNAY NA PAGBABAGO”.


“We were not that confident at first when we got there. But everything has change upon seeing Jeyde’s masterpiece”, said Mr. Catalino A. Camayra, the winning-student’s coach. “ Jeyde has proven once again that though we are just a small division, we are at least a giant in terms of achievements”, Mr. Camayra added.


During the preliminary of the program, Mr. Marlon , OIC-Office of the Civil Defense, National Capital Region discussed the mechanics of the Poster- Making Contest. After the distribution of the provided materials to be used by all the participants, the organizers immediately started the contest at exacly 1:00 o’clock in the afternoon. The participants were given three (3) hours to finished their work.

The pride of “JuanSci” was later invited to attend the Awarding Ceremony last July 30 2019, at the Dimalupig Hall B, Armed Forces of the Philippines Commissioned Officers Clubhouse, Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City, together with his parents, teacher-coach and Division DRRM Coordinator, Mr. Roy Dan R. Pido.


As per DepEd Order No. 29 s. 2017, the NDRRMC sponsors various activities that strenthen the aspirations of the National Disaster Risk Management Office in spreading awareness of Disaster resilience and mitigation measures to ensure the safety of the citizenry.
