“JUANSCI” GPTA AND HRPTA HOLD AN UNPRECEDENTED STYLE OF OATH-TAKING CEREMONY

The San Juan City Science High School General Parents-Teachers Association (GPTA) AND Homeroom Parents-Teachers Association (HRPTA) took their oath respectively in an unprecedented style for its first-ever Oath-Taking Ceremony last July 19, 2019 at the lobby of the new Science High School Building in Barangay St. Joseph, San Juan City.

It was no less than the Vice Mayor of the City, Hon. Warren S. Villa, who sworn them to their various posts as other members of the City Council witnessed the momentous occasion. “It was indeed a star-studded occasion that even the school administration wasn’t expecting it to be that way”, jokingly remarked by Mr. Hernan L. Apurada, Academic Coordinator of the school. He added, “We were surprised to see dignitaries from the Local Government Unit (LGU) and that it seems, made us unprepared. I guess, it was an unprecedented in the division to hold an Oath-taking ceremony that way”.

The occasion took an even more electrifying turn when the Mayor of the City, Hon. Francisco Javier M. Zamora, dropped by to congratulate the officers and see for himself the status of the new Science Building. Everybody was surprised to see him grace the event despite his very hectic schedule on that day wherein he just attended a gathering of all city mayors in the country. “Everyone is important in my administration especially if it is about the education of our San Juaneño youth”, the mayor said in his speech. He later went around and inspect the building to see what further improvements could be done.

The elected President of the JuanSci GPTA, Mr. Ronel C. Baquiran, expressed his warmest felicitations to all who had contributed for the success of the event. “Our deepest gratitude goes to all officers and members of the GPTA and HRPTA for this herculean task. Much more to the LGU officials, teachers and other guests who came to witness this ceremony that will bind us to help the school of our children”, Mr. Baquiran said in his message during the event.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Maricelle P. Gamboa, GPTA Vice President, conveyed to the LGU officials the aspirations of the JuanSci parents regarding their appeal to help the school in providing safety measures and necessary support. She stressed, “Our objective is to help the school in its desire to transfer to the new building wiwth everything already in place for the welfare of the JuanSci community”.

DepEd Order No. 54, S. 2009 provides that every elementary and secondary school shall organize a Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) for the purpose of providing a forum for the discussion of issues and their solutions related to the total school program and to ensure the full cooperation of parents in the efficient implementation of such program.
