QAD orients Private School Admins on Online Application System

Around 35 representatives from the different private schools in San Juan City gathered for the orientation on the Online Application System held on 9 July 2019 at Tabernacle of Faith Christian Academy in partnership with San Juan Association of Private Schools Administrators (SAPRISA). Mr. Arturo Sunga, from the Quality Assurance Division (QAD) of DepEd National Capital Region, facilitated the orientation which featured key salient processes that include permit to operate, renewal of permits, process on government recognition, application for tuition fee increases for School Year 2020-2021. This regional innovation aimed to make the application faster and easier for the private schools as well as in monitoring these processes by the division office counterpart.

The participants were welcomed by the President of the school, Rev. Ray Llarena and the school principal, Mr. Andrew Tan. The whole day event had two parts, the first of which was the orientation proper followed by the hands-on activity on the second part. It allowed for more meaningful interaction between the facilitator and the participants as issues and concerns were immediately addressed.

Moreover, schools were given their respective accounts and passwords which they will use for their application on the following processes: (1) Renewal of Permit to Operate, for new schools; (2) Government Recognition, for schools with permit to operate for at least four years; and (3) Tuition and Other Fee Increases, for schools with the intent to do so.

Schools are given until the end of August, 2019 to prepare the soft copies of the requirements for the said online application. This will give ample time for the division personnel to counter check the completeness of the said requirements prior to the uploading of the same in their respective accounts.

Consequently, Education Program Specialist for Private School Concerns, Mr. Cristopher E. Cabradilla, gathered all comments, suggestions, and recommendations made during the orientation for the post-evaluation review to be held on 1 August 2019 at the DepEd NCR Conference Hall.

As part of the Division Technical Assistance Group (DTAG), Mr. Cabradilla and the Information and Communications Technology Officer (ICTO) Engr. Leon Pangda will conduct periodic monitoring to private schools during the application period to address any pressing concerns.
