JUANSCI BET CLINCHES 3RD PLACE SPOT IN A REGIONAL CONTEST

The Division of San Juan City has once again shone brightly as one of its “cream of the crop” students clinched the 3rd Place spot in the recently concluded Regional On-the-Spot Poster Making Contest conducted by the National Nutrition Council - NCR in support to the 2019 Nutrition Month with the theme, “Kumain nang wasto at maging aktibo…push natin ‘to!” last July 12, 2019 at the NNC Boardroom, Taguig City.

[endif]--It was an experience worth remembering and emulating for the Grade 9 – Sun student of the San Juan City Science High School, Theodore Jeyde Balindo, who bested at least nine equally artistic competitors from the premier region- National Capital Region, earning for him the third spot behind the stellar work of two students from Parañaque and Mandaluyong. He was coached by his teacher in TLE-ICT, Mrs. Marilou L. Ladia who provided key points on the details of the artwork that jibed to the theme of the Nutrition Month Celebration. There were reportedly no representatives from the cities of Caloocan, Valenzuela, Marikina and Quezon City.

When asked about Jeyde’s preparation for the contest, his coach remarked “He was so confident about his artistic skills. His experiences in joining contests in the past have somehow contributed to his success in the competition”. The soft-spoken boy attributed his victory to the support of his family, particularly to his mother who was there on the day of the competition. “I am dedicating this victory to God, my family and to the entire JuanSci community”, Jeyde said in an interview.

Entries were judged based on the following criteria - Symbolism – 40%, Visual Impact – 35%, and Originality – 25% for a collective total of 100%. Winners will be awarded with trophy and cash prize during the Regional Nutrition Awarding Ceremony to be held at The Heritage Hotel, Pasay City on July 26, 2019.
