TURN-OVER CEREMONY OF GRADE 7 EsP MODULES OF THE LIONS CLUB INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION

The turn-over ceremony of Grade 7 Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao (EsP) Modules of the Lions Quest, a program of Lions Club International Foundation (LCIF) was held on 2 July 2019 at SDO Conference Hall.

The program started with the singing of the Philippine National Anthem with Dr. Susana S. Luceño. Education Program Supervisor for MAPEH, conducting. It was followed by the Doxology led by Dr. Helen G. Padilla, Chief Education Program Supervisor, CID. The Opening Remarks was delivered by Mr. Cesar A. Camayra, School Head, San Juan National High School.



During the Opening Program, Past Chamber Council Roberto R. Laurel, MJF, Lions Quest Administrator said that the modules for Grade 7 contain lessons on “Bullying”, Teen-age Pregnancy”, and “Drug Addiction”. These are pressing issues and concerns among the students nowadays that also affect their performance in school. The organization strongly believes that the lessons in the modules can aid the EsP teachers in teaching values among the young students to become productive citizens of this country.


Dr. Alejandro G. Ibañez, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, Officer-in-Charge, Office of the Schools Division Superintendent, thanked the LCIF for their generosity in providing alternative educational materials for the Grade 7 students of San Juan City. He challenged both teachers and students to utilize the EsP modules to serve their purpose.


“What we can give now is a strong foundation, giving you rights to learn, know yourself and make responsible decisions in life.” These are the inspiring words of Mr. Wilfredo E. Cabral, Officer-in-Charge, Office of the Regional Director, DepEd NCR to the students. He also mentioned that educators should have strong engagement with parents because according to him, the first education happens at home. He applauded LCIF as one of DepEd’s staunch advocates of programs, projects and activities in curriculum implementation.


Consequently, the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) ensued which formalized the launch as witnessed by DepEd Officials, teachers, and students.




The highlight of the program was the Turn-Over Ceremony of EsP modules to 738 Grade 7 students of San Juan National High School. Present during the activity were Mr. Cabral, Dr. Ibañez, Mrs. Pereyra, Mr. Camayra, and the Lions Quest Representatives headed by Mr. Bobby Laurel, Mr. and Mrs. Louie Encarnacion together with Ms. Raizza Mae Laurel and Mr. Victor Reyes, City Councilors of San Juan.


Dr. Emma A. Sendiong, Education Program Supervisor for EsP and the Division Coordinator for Lions Club International Foundation delivered the Closing Ceremony with Ms. Maria Carlyn Biluan, a teacher from the English Department of San Juan National High School, as the Master of Ceremonies.


The activity ended on a positive note to heed on the challenge of championing Values Education as a pillar of a relevant and responsive education for the students of this generation.
