SECOND BATCH OF DIVISION ORIENTATION ON DISASTER RISK REDUCTION MANAGEMENT (DRRM) MODULES CONCLUDES

In preparation for the opening of classes for School Year 2019 – 2020, SDO San Juan City conducted the Second Batch of Division Orientation on Disaster Risk Reduction Management (DRRM) Modules to teachers in-charge with Youth Formation and Development (YFD), Brigada Eskwela and the School Disaster Risk Reduction Management (SDRRMC) from May 30 – June 1, 2019. This activity aimed to provide wider understanding of the teachers on how to integrate and implement DRRM in the co-curricular activities of learners.


The first day focused on Inclusive Education and Common Hazards which was discussed by Mr. Roydan Pido, the Division Disaster Risk Reduction Management (DRRM) Alternate Focal Person. After which, an activity on pre-assessment of schools on DRRM facilitated by Mr. Cristopher E. Cabradilla, the Division Disaster Risk Reduction Management Coordinator.

The second day focused on School Based Contingency Planning and Hazzard Mapping which was simultaneous with the soft-opening of classes.

On the last day, participants presented their output on Hazzard Mapping while in the afternoon, Mr. Cristopher E. Cabradilla discussed the Alternative Delivery Modes (ADM) including the Basic Legal Bases of DRRM and its National Framework. The training concludes at 4:00 PM of June 01, 2019 through a simple awarding of certificates to the participants.
