SDO San Juan City Participates in the Basic Incident Command System (ICS) Seminar Level 1

The SDO San Juan City teaching and non-teaching personnel have recently concluded their participation in the LGU-organized Basic Incident Command System training at the San Juan City Multi-purpose Hall last May 29-31, 2019.

It is a known fact that the Philippines is exposed to natural disasters and calamities due to its geographical location. Pursuant to DepEd Order no. 21, s. 2015, the institutionalization of the coordination, mechanism and programs that guarantee protection and increase resiliency during the time of disaster, the Schools Division Office requested to the LGU San Juan through the Office of the City DRRMO to conduct training and seminar on the Basic Incident Command System (ICS) level 1 to all School DRRMs, Clinic Teachers, and Brigada Eskwela Coordinators. The training management team is composed of resource persons, facilitators, and secretariat who are from the office of the Civil Defense, National Capital Region, and San Juan City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.

Furthermore, this training aims to help the School Disaster Emergency Response Team as first responders in disaster preparedness, techniques and necessary skills to handle incidences and responses during disaster.

Finally, participants give thanks to the organizers, facilitator and speaker of ICS training who equipped them knowledge in times of emergencies and disasters. A unity of command should follow in responding incidents and disasters.
