SDO SA JUAN CITY CONTRIBUTES A RECORD-BREAKING PERFORMANCE IN THE 2019 PALARONG PAMBANSA

SDO San Juan City posted for the National Capital Region (NCR) contingent an unprecedented and record-breaking performance in the recently concluded 62nd edition of the annual Palarong Pambansa of the Department of Education (DepEd) held in Davao City from April 27 to May 04, 2019.


[endif]--With its 13 Golds, 4 Silvers and 1 Bronze outing in three (3) Sports disciplines- Archery, Dancesports and Swimming, SDO San Juan City propelled the NCR’s medal quest with a chart-topping 86-71-56 overall medal tally, lording the multi-sports event for the 15th straight times. ![endif]--

[endif]--The division has improved its Palarong Pambansa mettle compared to last year’s 2 Golds contribution for NCR. In an interview, Dr. Alejandro G. Ibañez, OIC-SDS of SDO San Juan, stressed the reason behind this feat, “we thrived in all our efforts of bringing the best from our student-athletes through grassroots training and development. This year’s performance reflects the commitment of our teacher-coaches and partners in the private schools to harmonize our long-term sports program in the division which is, of course, fully-backed by our supportive Local Government Unit (LGU), headed by Madam Guia G. Gomez”.

Furthermore, Xiandi Chua, a Grade 12 student of the Immaculate Conception Academy (ICA), has posted 5 record-breaking performance in the Secondary Girls Swimming Competition (200 LC M Breaststroke, 200 LC M Individual Medley, 200 LC M Freestyle and 400 LC M Freestyle Relay).


The week-long nationwide sporting event aspires to instill among the youth essential characteristics such as discipline, teamwork, and perseverance which are necessary in nation-building.
