As an avid fan of sports herself, the Mayor has this to say- “Sports develops not only the overall physical capabilities of our young people. It also develops in them the values of camaraderie, cooperation and responsibility”. “I am here today to show support to all the athletes competing in various sports disciplines, and of course, to my beloved San Juaneño athletes”, she stressed.

This year’s host to the DepEd-led regional sports spectacle, Honorable Marcy M. Teodoro of the City of Marikina, warmly welcomed the delegates with a festive display of street dancing as they introduced their environmental campaign- “Munting Basura, Ibulsa Muna” wherein participants were encouraged to join the dance craze.

The young student athletes vying for at least 34 sports disciplines thrived on merriment and goodwill during the opening program which was accentuated with colorful display of athletes in their respective division athletic uniforms. San Juan delegates were easily identified with the white and pink color combination that symbolizes Purity and Love.
