The San Juan City Scouting Committee recently held its first-ever step to separate itself as an independent council from the Metro Manila East Council where it is currently associated, by holding the Meeting and Election of Officers last July 16, 2018 at the SGOD Conference Room of SDO San Juan City.

The two scouting stalwarts of SDO San Juan, Dr. Felicito M. Angeo and Mr. Roy Dan R. Pido, presided the meeting which was attended mostly by officials of the San Juan City Scouting Council, School Heads and Local Officials. Thereafter, the attendees unanimously voted the honorable City Councilor Vincent Rainier Pacheco as the Chairman for Administration and honorable City Councilor Allen Silvano as the Vice Chairman.

The elected Chairman for Operation was Dr.Felicito M. Angeo and Mr. Anselmo Joven as the Vice Chairman. The newly formed pillars of San Juan City Scouting Council swiftly discussed plans to streamline the activities for the year and to strengthen the young council which is actually supervised by no less than the “Mother of the City” Hon. Guia G. Gomez and the “Father of the SDO San Juan City” Dr. Joel T. Torrecampo who themselves are beacons of the Scouting Principles.

In his speech during the meeting, Hon. Vincent Ranier Pacheco elucidated the very purpose of joining the scouting movement – “This is where I trace the discipline and the desirable values I grew up with. It’s more than scouting; it’s a way of life”. Truly, the future of the scouting movement in San Juan will be in good hands with these leaders at the helm.
