Third Moving Up ceremonies happen in San Juan


Candidates for the Third Moving Up ceremonies from the San Juan National Junior High School marched down the aisle of San Juan Gymnasium on April 3, 2018 to receive their Certificates of Completion. OIC Superintendent Dr. Joel T. Torrecampo, CESE, led the DepEd San Juan officials in witnessing the affair that was attended in by all school heads, the entire San Juan National High School faculty, key city officials, other guests and stakeholders, and the proud parents to pay tribute to the hard work of all Grade 10 students who successfully finished the requirements stipulated in the curriculum. He was joined later on stage by the OIC Asst. Superintendent Mrs. Flordelisa D. Pereyra, CESE, the different Education Program Supervisors and other division officials, and all the School Heads in the elementary schools who took turns in giving out the certificates to the successful passers.

Vice Mayor Janella E. Ejercito served as the Guest of Honor who inspired the students to persevere in order to achieve more in life. She further stressed, “I have so much confidence in the San Juaneno youth who have been constantly taking active roles in community building and will continue to shine as future leaders of the country and excel in whatever field you take.” Likewise, she reiterated the commitment of the local government to support the various DepEd programs aimed at developing the potentials of all learners.

Meanwhile, High School principal, Dr. Lucila G. Artuyo, delivered her heartwarming message like a true mother to her children. She said, “Savor this moment. Take pride in your accomplishment for you earned it. The time, efforts, and passion you have wielded have all paid off for you are now resilient enough to face the challenges this life might throw on you.”

All Grade 10 advisers took turns on the stage to call their respective students during the ceremonies. Winona Angela M. Ong, Top 1 of Class 2018, read her message of gratitude on behalf of the completers and eventually joined them in their Moving Up song entitled, “Lipad ng Pangarap.” Ms. Cherry Jane O. Cabsag and Mr. Jorge G. Ulanday of the High School faculty in the English Department, served as the program hosts.

In conclusion, the activity ended on a positive note as everyone felt the need to press on amidst all the challenges that await the Department of Education in general. After all, the year’s theme which reads, “K to 12 Learners: Ready to Face Life’s Challenges,” everybody committed to embrace the culture of resilience, innovation, and excellence in pursuit of a much improved country through quality and relevant education responsive to the needs and aspirations of the nation.
