San Juan Shine: DepEd-MTAP National Writers of Mathematics Saturday Program
At the heart of teacher effectiveness is the teacher’s ability to plan and create effective instructional materials which considers the strengths and weaknesses of the pupils. Our curriculum focused on the 5 Cs which are critical-thinking, creativity, communication, collaboration and congruency. In making it successful, Schools Division of San Juan continuously giving opportunities for professional development of teachers in crafting the best instructional materials for the 21st century learners.
In line with our goal to equipped teachers in making instructional materials, SDO San Juan are very proud to congratulate five DEPED-MTAP WRITERS of Mathematics Saturday Program which were used in the sixteen regions of our country. Having this teachers who exerted effort in researching, constructing and thinking mathematical challenges is truly an emblem that we are continuously striving for EXCELLENCE. These teachers are MRS. JAY DC. TULAYLAY (Pinaglabanan ES), MRS. ANALINE R. DE GUZMAN, (Pedro Cruz ES), MRS. BELEN R. DIZOR, ( SAN JUAN ES), MRS WILAM R. ROSALES, (Pinaglabanan ES), MRS. LOURDES VICTORIA M. CLAOR ( Nicanor Ibuna ES) and MS. ROANNE SOTELO (San Juan National HS). Writers from DepEd San Juan were trained through seminars on instructional materials and assessment.
Our DepEd- MTAP Writers considered key elements of effective instructional materials.These teachers considered “differentiation” which has something to do with multiple instructional materials, activities, strategies and assessment techniques to meet students’ needs and maximize the learning of the students. They also think “variety” which pertains to student motivation. Through trainings and other rekated activities, these teachers considered “cognitive challenge” which provide depth explanation content and covers higher-order concepts and skills thoroughly. Another application of our writers are student engagement, questioning and relevance which recognizes on schema, multiple levels, stimulating activities, real –life situation.
These 21st century educators and writers were recognized in ARAW NG PARANGAL SA MATEMATIKA-PAGPUPUGAY SA PATULOY NA PAGTAYO SA EDUKASYON last February 10-11, 2016. To the writers, I appeal that you keep alive the flames of your burning dedication, commitment, perseverance, and professionalism towards excellence. We believe that in TEAMWORK and GREAT PARTNERSHIP we can achieve more for us to continuously stand in the name of EDUCATION.
