13th National Science Quest
The Association of Science Teachers in the Philippines (ASEP) conducted the 13th National Science Quest last February 5-7, 2016 at the Teachers’ Camp, Baguio City which was originally scheduled in Calapan, Mindoro.
The competition was participated by Science enthusiasts, as well as science wizards all over the country.
The competition aims to promote academic excellence in Science and to create camaraderie and sportsmanship among pupils and coaches.
The participants from the Division of San Juan City were the following: Janine Grey Sutiangco from Kabayanan E S for Binibining Kalikasan; Carl Jansen Seraye from Sta. Lucia ES for Ginoong Kalikasan; Sofia Lim from San Juan National H.S. for Binibining Kalikasan (secondary level); Roxanne Joyce Generosa and Kathryn Buenaventura of KES for the Science Investigatory Project; Ms. Belinda P. Guevarra of PES for the Strategic Intervention Material (SIM) Grade 6 level. The SIP entry of Kabayanan Elementary School emerged as 10th Place. The proponents received certificates of recognition. The pupil contestants were accompanied by their teacher –coaches, Ms. Maria Magdalena Elape and Mrs. Aurelia Ronquillo as well as their parents. The Education Program Supervisor in Science of the Division of San Juan Mrs. Helen G. Padilla monitored the event in Science Quiz pre-school level and served as Chairman of the Board of Judges of the Grade 8 SIM contest.
This National event was the 3rd year that the Division of San Juan City participated.
