Documentation: “Basura mo, Kabuhayan ko” Livelihood Program for SPED Parents

It is very important to enhance person’s skills and capabilities to make a living to secure the necessities of life. Using recyclable materials helps conserves resources by converted used materials into new products reducing the need to consume natural resources and helps protect the environment.

The livelihood program entitled “Basura Mo, Kabuhayan Ko” is enormous help for the SpEd parents from Pinaglabanan Elementary School – SpEd Center. They use their skills and idle time while they’re waiting their child with special needs. This program was held last August 3, 2015 until August 31, 2015, headed by Mrs. Elsa L. Gella, Division SpEd Coordinator. It was every Monday and Friday, trained by the RRC of Women Barangay in San Juan. They use recyclable materials like sachets made out of foil into hand-made bags and purses. In response, some parents are very grateful by providing their opportunities to increase their income. This project was sponsored by Rotary Club San Juan East.
