Post-Conference Workshop on Basic Management for Children with Special Needs

The Basic Management for Children with Special Needs is a designed program project by Mrs. Elsa L. Gella, Education Program Coordinator in SPED to all children with autism who are enrolled in public schools in the City of San Juan. This program was successfully sponsored by the Rotary Club of San Juan East and other stakeholders. Mr. Michael Joseph G. Alejandra, Occupational Therapist OTRP, ROT was the speaker of 10 days half training workshop on basic management.
Unlimited Talent Show and Potential Skills Festival
February 15-18, 2016
The unlimited talent show and potential skills festival aims to overcome the discrimination against children with disabilities. This activity will enhance the mobility of person with disability to participate fully in the social life and development of society. The main goal of this activity is to develop potential skills to the fullest extent of their capabilities, to enhance their special talents and other abilities in order to develop friendship among others and to be independent and become a productive citizen.

Children with autism are unaware of their surroundings. They may also fail to respond to the sights and sounds of a social world. Often, with limited speech and language skills, the child follows a different development pattern compared to other children in the same age group. They have difficulty playing with other children and making friends. They engage in restricted, repetitive behavior that is hard to understand.

It is very important to enhance person’s skills and capabilities to make a living to secure the necessities of life. Using recyclable materials helps conserves resources by converted used materials into new products reducing the need to consume natural resources and helps protect the environment.
