SDO holds SESG Orientation Meeting


After a series of consultations on the rudiments of implementing the Seal on Effective School Governance (SESG) a localized version of School-based Management (SBM) that considered the uniqueness of the Division of San Juan City Schools, the Manual on SESG Operations was drafted and is now ready for field testing. In preparation for this, a one-day orientation meeting was held on September 5, 2019 at the SDO Conference Room. Spearheaded by School Governance Operations Division (SGOD), the objectives of the meeting are:


  1. To orient the School Heads and SBM Coordinators on the operationalization of the Seal of Effective School Governance (SESG) Localized School Based Management (SBM) System; and

  2. To plan on the field testing of the SESG EXEMPLAR Instrument for Seal of Effective School Governance (SESG) Developed: STANDARDS and Data-Gathering Instrument.


The meeting was attended by the school heads, SBM coordinators and PTA presidents. Agreements were: schools are given a month to try out the Manual while listing down all the comments/suggestions that will help improve the Manual. SGOD and CID shall conduct visits for mentoring sessions as regards the SESG process. It is expected that a final version of the Manual shall be released October that will signal official re-booting of SBM via the operationalization of SESG in November of this year. As averred by SDS Alejandro Ibaῆez, ‘SESG is a proactive response to SDO San Juan strategic goals, objectives, and options in building capacities and ensuring accountabilities, that foremost adhere to Effective Quality First Doctrine, based on identified components of school-based management and its corresponding indicators covered in the framework, evaluation models, and other relevant metrics criteria.‘
