LGU supports Scouts in 2018 Kid-Kab Scout Palaro


Eighty-eight (88) Kab scouts and twenty (20) adult leaders enjoyed an all-paid participation in the 2018 Kid-Kab Scout Palaro at Amoranto Stadium, Quezon City on September 29, 2018.

In adherence to the Department of Interior and Local Government Memorandum Circular No. 2018-11 that enjoins all Local Government Units to support Boy Scout of the Philippines, the Local Government Unit of San Juan City provided transportation, food allowance of P500.00 each participant and registration fee worth P 350.00 each.

“In the past years, the expenses in our participation in the Kid-Kab Palaro was shouldered by either parents or school. We are fortunate that thru our coordination with Honorable Councilor Vincent Rainer Pacheco, Chairman of San Juan City Scouting Committee, we are provided with everything that we need.’ said Mr. Roy Dan Pido, the Division BSP Coordinator.

After the parade around the stadium and opening ceremonies, San Juan delegation engaged in Team Games (Activity Based) and Side Activities (Achievement Badges- related activities). The Kab Scouts participated in 5 team games like Touch Ball, Transport Relay, Tumbang Preso, Puto Puto and Shot Put. The Kid Scouts tried Tying Shoe Lace, Be Good Be Happy, Be Healthy, Knot Tying, and De-Coding.

When asked about the best part of the activity, Drew Harley Lacanlale and Kurt Pierro Galeno, both Grade 2 Kab Scouts, gave different answers.

“I love the food. There were a lot. I like Jollibee” said Lacanlale. Meanwhile, Galeno said it was the games that he enjoyed.

The two-day pageant and fun activity with the theme “Commitment to Excellence” was joined by Kid and Kab Scouts from all the councils in Metro Manila.

The first day was a contest for “That’s My Kab” and the second day was spent for the Kid- Kab Palaro.

R: San Juan City Kab Scouts, together with the other Kab Scouts in the entire region, paraded around Amoranto Stadium before the formal opening of the second day of Kab Palaro 2018.

The Kab Scouts had to complete 5 different Team Activities. In each completed activity, the team was given a ribbon and a signature is affixed in their activity card.

The Kab Scouts of Nicanor Ibuna Elementary School gives their final salute as they wait for their bus to arrive. In the background are their parents and Adult Leader who accompanied them all the way to the venue.
