San Juan conducts Dulaang Pangmamimili 2018

Dr. Victoria M. Parambita, the Araling Panlipunan Supervisor, facilitated the conduct of Dulaang Pangmamimili 2018 with the theme, “Making Digital Marketplaces Fairer.” Students from the Special Science and Senior High School of San Juan National High School competed for the elimination round held on August 16, 2018 at the AVR of San Juan National High School. Guest judges were from the Department of Trade and Industry, Ms. Flo de Luso, and Ms. Janet R. Forter from the Ateneo de Manila University who were both inspired by the creativity and talent shown by the participants. It was the team from the Senior High School that won and represented the division to the regional contest on August 24, 2018.

Ms. De Luso quipped, ”The students were great. They captured the right emotions happening nowadays in the market.” Dr. Parambita was equally delighted to hear this remark as she made sure that everything was in place for the activity. “I hope that more students would get involved in this activity to heighten consumer awareness among the youth. The objective is great because it would empower them to know their rights and responsibilities in this highly digitized market,” she said.

Dulaang Pangmamimili is a role-playing competition for high school students done annually. It started last year in order to impress upon the young minds of Filipinos the importance of consumer rights so these can be respected and protected at all times.
