TURN-OVER of ICT, DRR EQUIPMENT and GARDEN TOOLS & SDO-SAN JUAN OUTREACH PROGRAM

Hon. Guia G. Gomez, City Mayor of San Juan attended the Turn-Over of ICT, DRR Equipment and Garden Tools and SDO-San Juan Outreach Program held at the Covered Court of Pinaglabanan Elementary School, July 11, 2017.

The Opening Program started with a Prayer led by Mrs. Helen G. Padilla, Education Program Supervisor for Science and it was followed by a Nationalistic Song and San Juan Hymn in an audio-video presentation. The Words of Welcome/ Message was given by Dr. Joel T. Torrecampo, CESE, Officer-In-Charge, Office of the Schools Division Superintendent. After welcoming the guests and the participants of the program, Sir JT took the opportunity to thank the Local Government Unit (LGU) headed by Mayor Guia G. Gomez, the School Heads of the Public Elementary and Secondary Schools of San Juan City and other Private entities in giving their share to help our brothers and sisters in Marawi City and also for equipping the public schools with the needed materials and pieces of equipment to further improve the teaching-learning process.

The next part of the program was the Turn-Over Ceremony of Donations to Synergia Foundation, the private sector in-charge of the shipment of our donations going to Marawi City. Mr. Bryant Wong, CDRRMO Officer in the Division of San Juan City was also present during the activity. He is instrumental in our partnership with the Synergia Foundation.

For the SDO-Outreach Program, we also distributed bags containing assorted food and toiletries to some adopted pupils and students from Marawi City, they were accompanied by their respective parents. They are very thankful for the heartwarming support and accommodation of SDO San Juan in partnership with the local government.

In line with this, Mr. John Phillip “Sunny” P. Sevilla, former Custom Commissioner, Synergia Mentor, delivered the Message of Acceptance and this was followed by Giving of Certificate assigned to Ms. Annie G. De Leon, Synergia Operations Officer.

The last part of the program was the Turn-Over of Information Communication Technology (ICT), Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Equipment and Garden Tools. Each School Head together with their ICT/DRR Coordinators, Teachers and Parents received the state-of-the-art equipment. Our Dep-Ed Officials headed by Dr. Joel T. Torrecampo, Mrs. Flordelisa D. Pereyra, Mr. Virgilio A. Santos and Dr. Felicito M. Angeo also helped during the turn-over ceremony.

The thank you messages were given by the SPG and GPTA representatives of Pinaglabanan Elementary School. The principal of the host school, Dr. Juphet A. Capuyan seved as the Master of Ceremony.

Hon. Guia G. Gomez, the ever supportive mayor of the City of San Juan gave the Message of Inspiration. She thanked all the public and private sectors in coming-up with a humanitarian project that helped our fellowmen in Marawi City. She also mentioned that she spent some years living in Davao City which is also under the territory of Mindanao. And for the distribution of the equipment in the schools, she is looking forward that the students will be the end users of these provisions because she reiterated that education is the priority project of her governance.
