National Learning Camp 2023: Recovering the Learning Losses and Gaps

The COVID-19 pandemic had a disastrous impact on education around the world. School closures, remote learning, and other disruptions had led to significant learning losses for many students. But the recovery from these losses is not impossible. In fact, learning camps can play a crucial role in helping students make up for the gaps and losses brought by the pandemic. With the DepEd MATATAG Agenda trying to resolve challenges in basic education, the NLC 2023 shall be implemented during the end of the school year. It offered enrichment, intervention, and remediation camp activities.

Learning camps are not only effective in helping students make up for the gaps and losses brought by the pandemic, but they also help to build a love of learning that can last a lifetime. They provide students with the opportunity to explore new topics and develop important life skills that will serve them well in the future.

In this regard, Kabayanan Elementary School shared the DepEd crusade in making every young Filipino recover from the pandemic-related learning losses by conducting learning camps. The camps organized provided the learners with an immersive and engaging learning experience that helped them develop critical thinking skills, problem-solving abilities, and a love of learning which eventually enabled them to become grade ready which will be validated by the post-assessment results.

The following pictures show some snippets from the learning camps that took place at KES.
