Deped San Juan High School teachers undergo senior scout training

In partnership between the Boy Scouts of the Philippines and the Department of Education (San Juan Division), the BSP-NCR Metro Manila East Council conducted a 2-Day Basic Training Course for Outfit Advisors on March 24 to 26, 2023 at Marikina Youth Camp, Marikina City.


This training has been carried out to furnish the participants with the basic knowledge and skills in administering the scouting program into a scout unit and help the youth grow in their academic skills, self-confidence, ethics, leadership, and citizenship skills that influence their adult lives.

The three-day training focused on the basics about scouting. Such topics were: Course Organization and Routine, Smartness and Good Order, History of Scouting, Fundamentals and Ideas of Scouting, BSP Structure, Introduction to the Life Cycle of Adults in Scouting, Youth Program and the BSP Scouting Family, Understanding the Young people, the Senior Scouting Program, and the like. At the duration of the training, the facilitators implemented training protocols and strict monitoring of the attendance of the 36 participants.


The training was facilitated by the BSP NCR Metro Manila East Council. The first part of the Opening Ceremony started with a prayer, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem led by Sctr. Virgilio T. Santos, LT, Pledge of Allegiance led by Sctr. Esterlina G. Seguan, WBH w/CML, BSP Vision and Mission led by Dr. Zeon L. Valdez, WBH w/ CML. The Opening Remarks was delivered by Secretary Joseph T. Santos, WBH w/CML and ended with a message given by the Schools Division Superintendent of San Juan, Dr. Cecille G. Carandang, CESO VI.

The presentation of participants was done during the second part of the program led by Secretary Arnoel L. Santos, LT, followed by the Presentation of Course Recognition and Message by Secretary Ruben F. Estillero, LT and Presentation of Course Staff was introduced by Secretary Ryan C. De Una, ALT w/ CMT and Secretary Luisito DJ. Macabiog, ALT w/ CMT. The program ended with a Photo Session.


The whole program was hosted by Secretary Stanley L. Manaog, ALT and Secretary James Macaranas, ALT.

The training ended with a closing program and the participants were expected to be ready to prepare the youth to become agents of change in communities and to become responsible citizens and capable leaders anchored on the scout oath and law.
