SDO San Juan City Hosts the 2nd Quarter Synchronized Regional DRRM Coordination Meeting and Field Vi
The SDO San Juan City hosted the 2nd quarter Synchronized Regional DRRM Coordination Meeting and Field visit last June 21, 2019. This program of the DRRMS DepEd Central Office aims to discuss the updates, issues, and concerns on the implementation of DRRM for the safe learning schools. DepEd DRRMS Central Office, National Capital Region DRRM Coordinator and Division DRRM Coordinators are the participants to the said events.
The following Schools of SDO San Juan were visited; San Juan Elementary School, Pedro Cruz Elementary School, Pinaglaban Elementary School and kabayanan Elementary School. The School DRRM Coordinator were directed to prepare a presentation on their current situation on the implementation of the DRRM program and projects, best practices and Contingency Plan for 7.2 Magnitude Earthquake “Big One”.
A warm welcome of all school heads to the participants and positively accepted the suggestions after the presentation of Contingency Plans from the team for the good implementation of the programs and projects of the school.
Ms. Kessica Bersamin, Senior Technical Assistant II, Disaster Risk Reduction Management Service, DepEd Central Office, added that in crafting their contingency Plan for Schools should be “Disaster Specific” in order to address all needs and preparations. She also mentioned about the management planning in times of disaster for the organized flow of instruction and suggested to prepare a family reunification for easy fetching of the learners.
These coordination meetings and field visits to the schools of SDO San Juan City strengthened the School disaster team in preparation and mitigation on disasters- raising the awareness on the Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation Program of the School.
