DEPED SDO SAN JUAN CITY HOOPS UP IN THE LGU-SPONSORED INTER-DEPARTMENT BASKETBALL LEAGUE

The LGU-sponsored Inter-Department Basketball League kicked off last July 13, 2018 at the San Juan Gym. The team of the SDO San Juan City gears for another muscle-wrenching and hardcourt-busting performance in order to vie for the title in the reinforced league participated in by almost twenty (20) teams hailing from the various departments serving the great city.
Epitomizing the vitality of their “coach” in public service, Dr. Joel T. Torrecampo - OIC-SDS, the team is beaming with anticipation, energy and grit to go all-out just like the way they do in serving the people of San Juan through education services.
The Schools Division Office continues to support the solid commitment of the City Government in its programs to promote the welfare of all personnel in a holistic approach. No less than the Vice Mayor of the City has continuously shown her support to the basketball league by personally overseeing the games and looking after the needs of the players.
This event is supported by the Mayor’s Office through the years since its staging and has evolved to be the next sought-after sporting event in the city other than the vintage “Mayor’s Cup” which was initiated and popularized by then Mayor Jinggoy E. Estrada during his term.
The leaders of our city value the role of Sports in nation-building and they firmly believe that through this, the promotion of healthy lifestyle, camaraderie and good example to the youth of this city is assured.
